Singer Marc Anthony, Robert De Niro, shock jock Howard Stern and supermarket mogul John Catsimatidis. Billionaire Donald Trump and his son, Donald Jr.; celebrity lawyer David Breitbart, and artificial-heart inventor Robert Jarvik can also carry steel, police records reveal. Mets third-baseman David Wright has a permit to keep a gun in his city penthouse. Martha Stewart’s daughter, radio host Alexis Stewart, also has a permit.

The best part of the story was “It’s unclear why (Marc) Anthony wanted the permit” …. Let me hazard a guess, maybe because he wants to carry a gun? :P

Nice to hear Donald and his boy are taking advantage of their status and being decent Americans. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if Trump carried around some sort of gaudy .50 Desert Eagle (DEAGLE) with diamonds all over it. His taste is pretty lavish judging by his Penhouse condo they show on each season of ‘The Apprentice’.

I took both pictures at ground zero on November 11, 2004. A bit over three years after the attack, and the whole area was still in shambles.  The feeling was (and I’m sure still is) very eerie there. Around the entire perimeter every so often there were groups of tactical looking NYPD officers with rifles (AR-15 pattern.. but could have been M4’s, I’m not sure) and German shepherds that were all business.

I really have nothing else to say…

Thank God for that strategically placed insanity wolf picture that follows him around in every scene.

In 15 years as an NYPD undercover cop, “Stevie Gunz” spent Sundays kneeling in the presence of the Lord. The rest of the week found the preacher’s son knee-deep among sinners.

The now-retired cop flaunted the colors of the Crips and the Bloods, buying dope and sawed-off shotguns while working the city’s streets and housing projects in a bulletproof T-shirt.

Before turning in his shield two years back, the native New Yorker earned his nickname by helping take nearly 500 guns off the street, testifying at 55 trials – and never firing his gun once.

Worth the read. It’s part 1 of a 3 part series… I’ll post the rest when they come out.

Interesting chart presented in the article (shown below)… I can’t say I’m surprised at any of the guns on the list:

I am a little surprised no rifles made the list though.

New York Mills, NY – Shortly before 1 p.m. on that Thursday afternoon, Dickan walked into the cellular phone store on Commercial Drive, with a .357 magnum in his hand, and a list in his pocket containing the six names of the AT&T store employees to which he was holding such deep anger, and planned to kill as a result.

Authorities believe Dickan could have been even more successful with his list of six victims, if not for the instantaneous actions of Rome Police Officer Donald J. Moore, who was off-duty, but in the store as a customer at the time of the shooting. “He heard and sees the gun, draws his weapon, and fired,” Lt. Little said of Officer Moore’s reaction.

Man there are some crazy people out there.

Pretty awesome that the armed off duty police officer was able to save at least 6 lives.  See, guns save lives too, it works both ways.

That’s the 2nd story in the past few days that has involved AT&T and guns. The other was the man in Oregon who tried to shoot out the tires of a getaway car of some robbers who stole multiple iPhones.

He said he believed his finger was outside the trigger guard and not resting on the trigger.

Classic line which is said by most negligent discharge bozos.  Has the “blame it on the gun” angle ever worked? Looks like he got proven wrong by the pictures they managed to recover anyway.

Oh Jeff Cooper… why can’t you have influenced EVERYONE in your short time on this earth?

What a shame that a young girl is dead all because of poor gun handling. To top it off, her boyfriend who killed her only gets 3 years and 4 months in jail? WTF?  I am not entirely familiar with the minimum prison term for manslaughter in the United States, but I hope it is a lot more severe than that.

Thank got at least he got what he did. There is a video on the page I linked where it says that a “range of sentencing options are being considered including a home detention.”  Wow…. so this guy kills someone and there was actually consideration in sentencing him to stay in his comfortable home rather than jail?

He put her in his car and took her to a medical centre but refused to give a statement to police for three days.

That’s pretty shady too, but maybe he was advised on that by a lawyer.
