permit

Giving Piers Morgan’s level of class a run for its money:

The guy has a point about Zimmerman being a concealed weapons permit holder.  God I hate when people do that politician style fist-knuckley thing while they are talking to emphasize what they are saying; dude is very hand-gesturey in general.

Nancy Grace’s response to Zimmerman having a concealed weapons permit?  “I don’t care. I DON’T Care.  And you know what Jefferey Dahmer had a legal right to have knives and a boiling pot and that doesn’t mean it’s OK.” <—- WAT? Yea that Dahmer comparison was weak.

Trying to prove a point while getting angry rarely works.  This case (1:47) the guy got muted hahah what a burn :(  … I bet he wanted to go smash things after that.  Even Piers Morgan didn’t pull anything that low, he just raises he voice over the person he’s arguing with.

Nancy-Grace2:03 we have another Nancy Grace gem about how everyone has the right to carry a gun but apparently it’s not normal to carry a “Loaded gun with live ammo and no safety” to walk a dog.  Huh?  Sometime I wonder what country these people live in.  Maybe it’s just the fact they are so rich and get everything including personal protection taken care of for them they just have no idea how regular people live anymore.

Thoughts?

Big surprise no one in the media wants a sign on their lawn:

4:29 – hahah at the wrong house they got where the old guy was carrying.

5:27 – “The issue is never gonna be guns.  What the issue is, is that you got to get them back down to one bullet magazines” – Ah… so THAT’S the issue.  Glad to see we’re striving for one round now… 10 or even the new 7 round thing I’ve heard is just too “high capacity” apparently.  And these are the guys paid to write for a living… impressive!

In case you missed it, this is all in response to the Journal News publishing a map with the addresses and names of all pistol permit holders in NY’s Westchester and Rockland counties.  Ironic that a lot of those reporters had armed guards because of the recent uproar over that info being published.

Singer Marc Anthony, Robert De Niro, shock jock Howard Stern and supermarket mogul John Catsimatidis. Billionaire Donald Trump and his son, Donald Jr.; celebrity lawyer David Breitbart, and artificial-heart inventor Robert Jarvik can also carry steel, police records reveal. Mets third-baseman David Wright has a permit to keep a gun in his city penthouse. Martha Stewart’s daughter, radio host Alexis Stewart, also has a permit.

The best part of the story was “It’s unclear why (Marc) Anthony wanted the permit” …. Let me hazard a guess, maybe because he wants to carry a gun? :P

Nice to hear Donald and his boy are taking advantage of their status and being decent Americans. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if Trump carried around some sort of gaudy .50 Desert Eagle (DEAGLE) with diamonds all over it. His taste is pretty lavish judging by his Penhouse condo they show on each season of ‘The Apprentice’.

Fruitport Township, MI – Police said several parents confronted James Sherrill on the field after witnessing the coach yelling and swearing at the boys, ages 8-10, who were playing the game.

After the initial confrontation was broken up, another parent approached Sherrill as he was leaving. That is when police said Sherrill pulled a concealed 9mm handgun from its holster.

Sherrill then drove himself to the police department to report what happened, according to officers. He was then arrested for felonious assault and will be arraigned May 28.

The Students for Concealed Carry on Campus Board of Directors is pleased to announce that for all of empty holder protest week (Now – April 10 @ 11:59 PM ET), there is an opportunity for anyone with a .edu email address to obtain a FREE CHP TRAINING COURSE for Virginia. Both residential and non-residential permits are available in Virginia.

Online training is valid under Virginia law for a Virginia CHP permit (VA Code §18.2-308 (G)(7) and (P1)(7)). Education and training are key goals of SCCC. By making training available to students, faculty, and staff on campus, we will further a goal shared by both sides of the gun rights debate: to educate about the core safety aspects of firearms and self-defense.

Here’s what you do:

1) Visit: http://www.onlineconcealedcarry.com/
2) Register with a .edu email address
3) Use the following discount code: 923726
4) Finish the course before April 10 @ 11:59 PM ET.

Upon completion of the course, you will be given a printable certificate of completion. Instructions on how to submit this certificate to Virginia authorities is available at: http://www.vsp.state.va.us/Firearms.shtm . Please note that you will be responsible for any state fee(s) and compliance with all legal standards that Virginia requires.

A Virginia CHP permit is currently valid in AK, AR, AZ, DE, FL, ID, IN, KY, LA, MI, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, and WV. Please note however that currently Michigan (MI), South Carolina (SC), and Florida (FL) only honor permits from residents of the issuing states.

Sounds like a great opportunity.  By the sounds of it, you don’t even need to live in Virginia to take advantage of the offer, since non-residential permits are available.   All you need is an .edu email address.

I encourage all students, faculty, and staff of colleges and universities to take advantage of this offer.

I applaud Students for Concealed Carry on Campus for making this happen,  and wholeheartedly support their cause.

Remember you only have until Midnight until April 10th, if you want it for free.

As always, I recommend the book by Massad Ayoob (pictured left) for anyone that wants to read up on concealed carry.

After reading Josh’s comment in the previous Leonard Embody related post here on my blog, I was browsing through the list of crazy laws he linked to, and came up with the following in Google Maps:

With his weapon carry permit revoked, Leonard Embody (kwikrnu) is now setting out on a road trip around the U.S.A. to challenge other obscure laws in hopes of being arrested and getting rich off a wrongful arrest lawsuit settlement. (Click to view map)

I picked out on the most obscure items that were apparently legal, just to prove the point.
