Miguel Caballero makes fashionable lightweight bulletproof clothing designed for the world’s elite.

A reporter from VBS.tv goes to Bogota Colombia for a tour of their factory, and gets shot with a revolver from about 1 foot away while wearing one of their jackets.

“I shoot all my employees” says Miguel.  It’s an initiation if you are an employee.

Sounds like a pretty good idea to me, although some of it does look a bit bulky.  Any protection at all beats no protection, and that clothing would definitely save some lives.

Very neat stuff.

Definitely an interesting idea.  I’d like to see the results in some ballistic gelatin.

The absence of a copper jacket, and the fact the hole isn’t perfectly centered makes me think it wouldn’t retain its weight very well (if at all).  I have no doubt it would expand like a banshee though.

All the talk about Glocks lately reminded me of this:

1) It takes him around a minute to figure out how to get the magazine out of the Ruger Mini-14

2) His scope is upside down (54 seconds.. notice the knob)

3) Racks the bolt (43 seconds) … pulls on the magazine… pushes down on the magazine.. still wont come out… drops the bolt (1 minute 4 seconds).. fumbles around some more and finally gets the mag out, but chambers a round and sets the gun down in the process.
