trigger

THIS is how you make a video:

I talked about Tac-Con’s triggers and a previous cool video of theirs about a year ago.  I also by the looks of it, talked a lot of shit about the fake AUTO position the trigger can go into.  I guess I matured over the past year because that doesn’t seem like that big of deal to me anymore *shrug*.  Sometimes I get in the mood to just talk shit on tangents you know?  Anyway back to the triggers.. they look promising.  Here’s more about that 3rd mode:

The 3MR is a drop-in 3-mode fire control system with Safe, Semi-Automatic, and Tac-Con™’s patented 3rd Mode. The 3rd mode has a positive reset that dramatically reduces the split times between shots. The positive reset characteristic is achieved by transferring the force from the bolt carrier through the trigger assembly to assist the trigger back onto the front sear. As a result, this gives the firearm the fastest reset possible. Both semi and 3rd mode positions exhibit a non-adjustable 4.5 pound trigger pull weight.

You can head over to their website and check them out.  I know some people aren’t going to like the prices… $400 for an AR-15 Trigger, $400 for an AR-10 trigger, and $350 for the AK-47 one.  It’s a bold move considering established leaders like Geissele come in at quite a bit lower price.  As always the market will decide if $400 is worth it.

LOL at the nod to Office Space with the “damn it feels good to be a gangster” track and by Tanneriting the photocopier.

P.S. If you don’t know Chet Faker (the guy singing the song in the video)… he also sings a cover of one of my favorite “There are girls at this party, lets put on something they will dance to and make bad decisions” songs by Blackstreet… yea it’s No Diggity.  Chet Faker Cover can be listened to here.  So many quotable lines in that song…

Getting paid is a forte, each and every day / true player way.  <— #ENDO

Speaking of triggers, I made this up a while back.  If you guys haven’t already figured it out, I crack myself up NON-STOP.  I’m lucky I don’t have an assistant because he/she would probably want to murder-suicide the both of us:

Video game site Kotaku takes a look:

If the safety is off, or if the gun is loaded without you being aware of it, keeping your finger off the trigger will ensure that you’re using it safely. Until you are ready to fire the gun, until you are ready to destroy what you’re pointing at, you should keep your finger off the trigger. It’s far too easy to accidentally pull the trigger because of a spasm or startled response to something.

Mostly, but there’s no reason to have your finger on the trigger even if there is a safety and you “know” that it’s on.

Normally paintball is one getting inspired, not the one giving inspiration.  That’s changed:

Enter the Elftmann Tactical Dual Enhancement Trigger.

I’ve seen people use double triggers on paintball guns, and they are a lot faster.  The one advantage though on paintball is that people can feather the trigger with their two fingers, creating a barrage of paintballs.  Watching the video, you can see the guy is shooting sort of quick, but no quicker than the average person could pull a regular trigger.  Does he just suck at demonstrating the product, or is it it just poorly designed to not register a feathering of the trigger with ones index and middle fingers?

With two triggers I don’t want to see this thing anywhere near the retards at the public ranges I occasionally go to that couldn’t practice proper trigger discipline to save their life.

Also, what’s the deal with the gang sign grip he’s utilizing during most of the video?  To me that’s another non-selling point of the product, if it requires you to hold your rifle like that.

The trigger pack is $239 (sheeeeeeeeeeit) available over at Elftmann Tactical.

Relevant for those of you that go inna woods:

I don’t own an SKS, nor do I plan on getting one… but this seems like a pretty nice mod.  Somewhat risky, but nice.  I saw in the YouTube comments that they will do the mod for you for only $35 if your not into trying to do it yourself.

I hate extreme amounts of pre-travel on triggers.

Thoughts?  Anyone try this out?

Unless it has an adjustable break point, i’m not impressed.   Now that I said that it actually it doesn’t look like there’s any break point at all.

A few companies already make these things finger strengthener things for guitar players.  Yea the guitar ones have all 4 fingers, but you can isolate just the index finger on some of them if you want.

For $55 i’ll save my money and continue pulling real triggers.  OMG IT’S ON SALE!  Only $45 *click* buy now… buy now!  :P  Uhhhh no.

Using one of these at work would definitely get you labeled as the office psycho if you’re not working in a law enforcement or gun related workplace.

That color and dated design pisses me off too… It looks like something that should have been hawked on the home shopping network in the ’80s.   The youtube commercial I embedded supports my point.

With this mug:

$17 and also available in white – HERE

I’m no ceramics expert, but that trigger looks like it could be fragile.  I picture raising a full glass of hot coffee to my mouth with my finger on the trigger, then all of the sudden it breaks off and I get 3rd degree burns to the sack.  I guess that’s a reason to practice good trigger discipline even on cups.
