High quality recruitment / trolling:

This was designed to upset some people and excite others. It did its job.  If you google psyop ghosts in the machine, you’ll see numerous articles freaking out about it.

Currently it’s the only video that the Army 4th PSYOP Group has out on YouTube, and they already have 9580 Subscribers at the time of writing.

A fan made US Naval Special Warfare DEVGRU Recruitment Video:

*eye roll* @ the suppressed fire sounds.  I think it would have been more effective to just not have any firing sounds than those dumb movie-type ones.

Besides that there was obviously some cool footage because those guys do cool stuff.  Who is this recruiting you ask?  COD nerds everywhere now brushing the Cheeto dust off their shirts, telling their moms to get their tactical load out from the rubbermaid containers in the garage, and starting to do some physical training.

Tactical-Operator-Military-VanEvery time I see night vision I am always reminded how bulky it is.. that does NOT look like fun to wear.  Beats dying though obviously.

A decent first episode:

Mario-Brothers-Ammo-Ammunition-Bullet-CartridgeI used to think Toad was lame… he’s alright in this though.  If over the top theatrical gun play isn’t your thing don’t watch this video.

I’m not really sure where they are going with this story, but it looks fairly promising.  At least the production value is top notch.

They have a Kickstarter campaign (like everyone else on earth) they are using to raise money to finish the Mario Warfare series.    Check it out and donate if your’re interested.

This looks like it has potential:

Imagine a game that draws inspiration from the large scale, multiplayer experience of a title such as Battlefield 3, and combines it with the cops and robbers style of Grant Theft Auto and HEAT. Welcome to POLICE WARFARE; a multiplayer first person shooter set in the world of armed robbery and law enforcement. Players will go toe-to-toe as either a member of the Los Angeles Police SWAT team, or the opposite side of the law, robbing banks as an armed gunman.

They had me at HEAT (my all time favorite movie).  At the time of writing this they are very far away from their funding goal ($15664/325000), but there is a month left so who knows what could happen if enough people spread the word.  I was actually surprised that the other crowd sourced video game I blogged about was 110% funded when it ended!

Lots more details over at the KickStarter website.  Make sure you check it out and even put some of your own money in to back the project if you’re interested.

Thoughts?  Are you guys excited about these crowdsourced games, or are you happy with what the major game companies are currently delivering?

A lot shorter than, and not as entertaining as the first Cardboard Warfare… but still pretty decent.

If only that would work in real life. Pretty awesome move.

Freddiew from YouTube rarely disappoints when it comes to gun related vids.  Some Previous ones of his I posted about:
