Online Virtual Weapon Building

Websites for weapon building, starting with my favorite:

1) Larue Tactical Weapon Profiler

All around great looking weapon builder.  Has a wide variety of parts, but only Larue Tactical items in the categories of stuff they make (rails etc..) makes sense though.

My one criticism of this is that you have to manually line the items up, there is no “snap” feature.  The lack of this feature makes creating ridiculous looking rifles a breeze though.

2) Brownells AR-15 Builder

Quite a few part and accessories to choose from as well.  The photos of some of the products are not as clean looking as the ones in the Larue Profiler though, so your end product doesn’t end up looking as nice.   Since it uses Brownells inventory, it really gives a good idea of the amount of money your build is costing you as you drop the parts in.  This has the obvious downside though of only being able to select inventory that Brownells carries.

The snap is sometimes too aggressive, so making ridiculous looking rifles up isn’t as easy as with the Larue Profiler.

3) Pimp My Gun

The parts and accessories are all vector graphics (ie. not real pictures).   There are an incredible amount to choose from though!

The interface isn’t the easiest to figure out, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll be going “full retard” in no time.

6 Eotechs in a row, on a SCAR-AK-47 with 23 bipods, and 19 vertical foregrips?  Sure why not!

No snap feature on here either as far as I can tell…. the object of this website is more to have fun though rather than create realistic builds.

4) The mega fail from Discovery Channel to promote “Sons Of Guns”

Not only did they shamefully steal the name of my #3 favorite weapon building website, but they also shit the bed on the interface, and basically the entire concept.   It did allow me to create the AK-47 picture below though, which I am incredibly proud of (not).  Don’t hate on my revolver foregrip.

If you guys know of any others that are decent, let me know in the comments and I’ll add them to the list.

I was working on a gun builder awhile ago but never finished it. The interface is not the best, and graphically, it’s not the prettiest (I started to re-model all the parts and added shading, but never finished). My main goal was to have as many parts as possible, including some less popular ones from small companies

A lot of work you have done!!! Don’t give up, finish it …it’s very nice. Sure it’s simpler but the idea of including those “wild” accessories and having several firearms to be built (AK, HKs , M14 etc) is very unique. It’s simple, but it’s nice. I liked !

This may be of interest to some of you, but the 3rd site, Pimp My Gun, has a Flickr page full of outlandish creations, many of which are actually very well done. People there can do some wild stuff with the program, and come out with a lotta cool designs.
It’s worth checking out, in my opinion.

lame. When I started my AR build i took a look at some of these “Buil Engines” and the stupid part about them is that your dealing with Brownells prices, or Magpuls prices, or oh god…*puke* OpsGears Rig Builder and OpsGear Prices… Engine sickness. I know about the platform I dont need to use a builder to put one together. I wish I wish OpsGear sold higher quality stuff. they have a decent selection and a nicely laid out site. To bad the majority of the crap they sell is Condor and other cheap shit. Def not millspec anything. Dont ask… I built a rig a while back and I have just about every piece I bought for it.

Go to Google and type in gunstruction. It’ll pull up a website that will prompt you to install a quick file for free. No strings attached, no hidden charges, no credit cards, no fine print, NOTHING. The software file you’ll download will let you build the largest variety of AR type rifles you will find. You can build in preconstructed sections (uppers, lowers, butt stocks, etc.) Or you can explode the weapon build it from scratch piece by piece from the barrel to the trigger pins. Then you can accessorize, 360 view, or even paint each individual part. You can also select the option to look down the sights to get a good odds of what your rifle will look like from that angle. Try it out. They also have a gunstruction app for Apple or Android in standard definition or high definition (though frankly both are really slow-i have an android. I haven’t tested the app store version)
