He has no business teaching lawful self-defence as his actions demonstrate he has no understanding of the legalities of it. I have a lot of respect for Thunder Ranch and he taught classes there recently and Clint (a personal hero) spoke highly of him. Now, he pulls this nonsense, makes me question Clint’s personal and business judgement.
Yeager is making everyone, most of all him, who is serious about training look bad. This behaviour is unprofessional and juvenile. Early on he could simply have said, “There was nothing I could have done differently on Route Irish, the deaths of my comrades haunt me to this day, I have dedicated myself to being the best warrior I can be because of that day.” Now the whole situation is off the rails and I can only hope that it doesn’t get larger.
This train has long been falling into an endless pit of despair. The professional trolls, 4 Chan, can take it from here

If Mr. Yeager is ever involved in a civilian shooting the prosecution will essentially have a Murder 1 case HANDED to them, no matter what the circumstances.
Sadly they will only have a slightly more uphill case against his students and instructors if they are ever in a defensive shooting, as they can claim that they were trained, and view as a positive roll model, this unbalanced individual who makes constant threats of illegal violence and murder.
This is exactly where you DON’T EVER want to be if you carrying a firearm.
Rob…thank you above all for our concern. We had James as a student last year. He was a good student. We have over the years asked people to come teach at our facility…Jeff Hall…Ray Chapman…Mass…Farnam….Jon Penny. We want our students to have exposer to other” tools/skills in the tool box”. James has always be controversial and will continue to be;) Our students were able to put their gun skills up against another instructor to see if what they already have on board works for them. Clint and I want to always be students…so that we can learn more so that it benefits you. There are some things we totally disagree with James about period….and some things we agree with. Clint and I have been doing this a long time…people come and go in this industry….and we will come and go. The best way to handle this type of situation is for us is to ignore it….James has his own way of doing things…that does not mean we agree with what he is doing….but it has nothing to do with us. We did not make money on the classes he taught here…all funds went to him….he did in trade give our local LE officers a free class and for them it was a good experience having someone outside the Thunder Ranch Box….they may not have agreed with everything he taught but its good to get this exposer for yourself as a student. If I’m not mistaken, this is enough to have him arrested. A death threat is a death threat. I’m sure he’s got enough fans of his cowardice thingy to get a class suit going. i know I feel endangered having posted something negative (“growing balls”) on one of his videos, so yes, I need $6 million for my scared senses and paranoia.
Not enough in my state. The threat is decidedly non-specific. If he ever says “I’m going to kill you on Tuesday with my rainbow brite collection.” then he’s in trouble. Someone should infiltrate his outfit and replace his steroids with estrogen pills like in “The Longest Yard”.
This guy makes tons of cash getting all the publicity he gets from the forums and people talking smack. His career thrives on the drama he creates. For every person who bashes him there’s someone who is lining up to sign up for one of his classes. The best way to make him go away is to stop talking about him and caring what he does. Buck Yeager will fade away on his own if no one talks about him. He does nothing special that 900 other “tactical” groups can do without the drama.

Does anyone know what sent him over the edge? He has been called a coward for years.
Perhaps he sees it as a chance to promote his brand or maybe he believes he is well enough established that he can behave this way.
He is not so very different from most of the cops I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Heavy on the attitude and steroids, light on the actual ability and experience. Yes, I know he had plenty of time going 16 on 1 with body armor and automatic weapons vs say a pistol when he was a SWAT officer. Most of his videos that I have seen were less than accurate with the info he gives out as expert advice….
